At SunnahMarriageHub, we respect your privacy and comply with the UK GDPR. This policy explains what data we keep, how long we keep it, and why.
We only collect and store the minimum data necessary to operate the platform securely.
Data is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes set out in this policy.
When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Email, mobile number, and profile details: kept while your account is active.
If you close your account, this information will be deleted within 30 days, except where required by law (e.g. fraud prevention).
Passport/DVLA ID documents:
We do not store raw copies of your passport or driving licence once verification is complete.
Instead, we record a “Verified” status and the date of verification.
If a third-party verification provider (e.g. Onfido, Yoti) is used, they may retain documents in line with their own GDPR-compliant policies.
Chat history between users is retained for 12 months to:
Ensure safety and transparency.
Assist in case of disputes, fraud, or reports of harassment.
Support cooperation with lawful requests from authorities.
After 12 months, chat history is permanently deleted.
Login records, IP addresses, and device information are retained for 12 months to detect fraud, enhance security, and prevent misuse.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
We do not store your full credit card details. Stripe may retain limited transaction information as required for financial regulations.
We may retain certain records longer if:
Required by law.
Needed for fraud prevention.
In connection with ongoing investigations or legal claims.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Request a copy of your data.
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
Withdraw consent where applicable.
